Lawrence Abramson is an Ohio native and has been practicing law in the Columbus area since 1978.   Lawrence brings more than 30 years of experience to the field of personal injury law.  He has received the highest rating from the Martindale Hubbell Legal Directory and has been recognized by Ohio Super Lawyers as one of the top personal injury lawyers in Ohio.  The efforts of Lawrence and his partner, Thomas O'Connell, have combined to obtain verdicts totaling more than $20 million in the last several years.

Lawrence is known for his persistence and unwavering commitment to his clients.  Not long ago, he accepted the difficult task of seeking to reopen a wrongful death case that had been dismissed because of another lawyer's failure to provide the court with sufficient evidence.  As a result of Lawrence's persistence, the case was not only reopened, but ultimately resulted in a $3.2 million verdict for his client.  Lawrence brings this level of commitment to a variety of personal injury cases including auto and truck accidents, premises liability, medical malpractice and industrial accidents.

Education

Lawrence received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston University in 1973, graduating with honors.

He then enrolled in law school, graduating from the University of Cincinnati, with his J.D. in 1978.

Experience

Mr. Abramson began his law practice with the Ohio firm of Moots, Hultin, Weinberger & Cope and quickly became a partner. During his time with the firm, he served as special counsel to the Ohio Attorney General and was responsible for the firm’s personal injury practice.

In 1984, Mr. Abramson established his own practice, focusing solely on personal injury law, before founding the Columbus Law firm of Abramson & O'Connell, LLC.

Appointments and Honors

Mr. Abramson has previously served as a representative at large on the Board of Governing Trustees of the Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers.  He has been selected to be included in Ohio Super Lawyers.  Mr. Abramson has been an invited lecturer in the field of personal injury litigation.
